Membership

How do I join?

Membership of the Retired Police Association of Tasmania (RPAT) is open to all police officers of Tasmania Police and other jurisdictions who have resigned or retired, after having served a minimum of five years. Exceptions are open to members who have been forced to resign or retire, as a consequence of poor health or injury.

To become a member, either complete the membership form on this page, or contact the RPAT Secretary as detailed below.

What does it cost and how to pay?

Membership of the RPAT attracts a $5.00 joining fee and the annual subscription fee of $20 per member, a total payment of $25 which must be paid at the time of making application to join. Upon acceptance of your application, you will be forwarded a letter of welcome, a membership badge, and an ID card. The ongoing annual subscription fee of $20 becomes payable on 1 January each year.

Associate Membership of the RPAT is open to the spouse or partner of a RPAT Life member, Ordinary Member or Honorary Member. JO PATERSON TRAVEL   - As a travel agent I manage the research, planning, and booking of leisure travel arrangements. I can book almost anything from flights and travel insurance to tours and activities to cruises and expeditions.  As well as my years in the industry I've personally travelled to 40 countries (23 of them just in the last year), and have a plethora of personal experience to top off my professional knowledge.  I love travelling, and leisure travel - of any and all kinds - is my specialty.
I usually charge service fees of up to $130 per person for booking a holiday, but I am also offering to waive my service fees for any RPAT members who book a package holiday (a booking consisting of more than flights alone) with me.
I am contactable by email, phone, social media, etc.

THE REEF RETREAT PALM COVE QUEENSLAND ACCOMMODATION

We are happy to provide support for and encourage members of the Tasmanian Retired Police Association to come to North Queensland for a holiday.
Our offer is essentially a generous discount on accommodation (subject to the time of year).

  • Our low season is from November through to the end of March.

  • Shoulder season is April through to mid-June

  • Peak Season is mid-June to mid-October.
The best time to travel is April-May as the wet season is all but gone as are the stinging jellyfish, along with the humidity.  Day time temperatures are pleasant and comfortable.  Having said that the discount offer to members is available year-round, in Peak Season of course it is against peak rates and low and shoulder it is against those seasonal rates.
Please also have a preview of the property and the rooms on our website
